Using Effective Digital Marketing Strategies

The global sportswear brand Nike is at the top of its game. Nike’s success as a top sports apparel brand is no surprise. Each Nike campaign tells a story and takes people on a journey.

Building stories that matter and a tagline

Nike campaigns are very effective. These campaigns are about telling meaningful stories that build loyal fans. Nike uses “emotional branding” to instil emotion in customers. The ads are carefully crafted to evoke specific emotions and make Nike products more meaningful in customers’ eyes.

Distribution strategy

Your customers should be talking about your brand. Nike creates memorable experiences that people will talk about and share. Nike has several subsidiaries, including Jordan, Hurley, and Converse. Different brands support them to help them grow.

Nike’s digital marketing strategy also includes a key component: the distribution strategy. Nike sells its products through various channels, including retailers, ecommerce sites, resellers, and supermarkets.

Strategy and mission targeting

Nike is more than a footwear company. It also makes clothing and sports equipment. The brand uses cutting-edge technologies such as hyper adapt.

Its mission is to “Inspire and Innovate Every Athlete in the World”, and its slogan is “Just Do It”. They offer bundle products and a strong product portfolio across various business segments.

Financial statistics

Nike’s digital marketing strategy has won the victory. Nike is now the most valuable global apparel brand, with a brand worth 28 billion dollars. With 2.8 per cent of the global market, they held the largest share in 2017. Strong financial records are also a hallmark of the company. Nike has generated more than 30 billion USD in revenue over the past four years.

We have already mentioned that Nike’s digital marketing strategy includes highly creative and emotional campaigns.

Nike Air Jordan and Facebook MessengerBot Collaboration

The collaboration between Nike Air Jordans and the Facebook Messenger bot is our first selection of Nike campaign campaigns. Nike teams up to create this campaign with conversational artificial platform Snaps.

This project delivers content from the Air Jordan blog and Jordan.com weekly to users. It is divided into three categories: Air Jordan and shop and watch.

Reactland by Nike

Nike created a rich digital campaign to promote its new Epic React running shoes. The campaign featured channels such as mobile, video, and website.

Reactland, the immersive initiative that takes users into a virtual world by creating 8-bit avatars, is the most notable element of this campaign. This project allows users to experience the latest sole cushioning technology.

Wieden+Kennedy Shanghai created this campaign that combines social media engagement with immersive experiential marketing and gaming.

Nike Unlimited Stadium

Did you ever race with your shadow? “Nike Unlimited Stadium” made it happen. Nike has built its first LED racing track in Manila, Philippines.

With the help of a sensor attached to the shoe, runners can race with their LED avatars in a 200m long track made by LunarEpic running shoes. This is a great Nike project, conceptualized by BBH Singapore and digitally promoted by Birdman.

Nike: The Wonder Woman of Vogue

The LGBTQ rights-supporting ad continues our Nike campaigns. The company made this short film in collaboration with Leiomy Moldonado, a transgender Vogue artist. It also celebrates Pride Month. Daisy Zhou directed the video, and Public Records produced it.

This project celebrates Voguing, a type of dance previously performed by transgender and queer people in Harlem’s 1960s. Precious Angel Ramirez provides narration.

The ad runs for 60 seconds and pays tribute to New York’s underground ballroom scene. This was a community created by poor Black and Latino LGBTQ youth to allow them to express themselves freely and show off their dance moves.
